Michelle Lynn Monaghan Bio

Michelle Lynn Monaghan was born on March 23 of 1976. She is most famous for her role as the lead in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015), and Patriots Day (2016). Her role as Julia Meade, the main character in Mission: Impossible's action-spy show Mission: Impossible (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018), has been recognized. Monaghan also starred in True Detective's first season (2014) in the first season of True Detective as Maggie Hart. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Best Supporting Actress. In the drama The Path, a drama series The Path (2016), she played the role as Sarah Lane. Monaghan appeared as Eva Geller in the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah which ended up being cancelled after just one episode. Monaghan was the daughter of Sharon Hammel and Robert Monaghan (a factory worker) and was born in Winthrop, Iowa. Bob and John are her two older brothers. Monaghan is of Irish and German roots, and was raised Catholic.She graduated from East Buchanan High School in 1994. After graduation, she moved to Chicago to pursue a journalism degree at Columbia College Chicago and began to model. She modelled in Milan, Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as in the United States. In 1999, she only had one semester left to finish her degree in journalism. Then, she moved to New York to pursue an acting career. Before becoming an actor she was model and was featured in numerous magazines and catalogs. Monaghan's two first television credits, as a supporting character, were on episodes of Young Americans in 2000. She also played a character in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in "Consent", an episode that was broadcast on January 19, 2001, and she made her debut on screen the same year with Perfume, playing the part of Henrietta. Her next film, also with a supporting part and in 2002 in Unfaithful which starred Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
