Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 is an English actress. She is also a model, director, activist and actress. She is best known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) as she played the character for ten years, until the last film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). After the Harry Potter series, Wright appeared in a series of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013) and After the Dark (2014) and After the Dark (2014). The films were met with mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the main character in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with a bachelor's diploma in filmmaking. In 2012, she founded BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first project she directed was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high reviews. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), that starred Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotional and landscape. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox, Jason Isaacs and based upon A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been acknowledged for her environmental activism.
