Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef for the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up presence, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-master recipes for the at-home cook on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian cooking traditions as well as the geography. She also competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. Her passion was for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of American student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. The time she spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which improves children's lives who have challenges. She is also an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Celebrity Ambassador. she is an advocate for juvenile diabetes awareness. As a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. In her journey to culinary excellence, Anne has always said I feel so lucky to be able to share what I love most for life with people.
